Solutions

How do we urge our community to step up?

By urging motivated families to work toward economic independence.

The collaborative relies upon volunteer teams comprised of service providers, case managers, agency staff, business representatives and ordinary citizens to address workforce development and job training, wealth building and financial understanding, and work supports, and to evaluate existing efforts in these areas.

Teams work to:

  • Move beyond worn stereotypes about poverty and those living in it;
  • Help to build organizational capacity of service providers;
  • Identify barriers, dysfunctional policies and procedures that do not serve families in poverty; and
  • Devise creative solutions.
